Little Miss Scatterbrain

I have challenged myself to become a more organized, thus more "successful", blogger.

I am presenting-Ta da!-Food Adventure Sundays and Book Nerd Thursdays.

Since my blog is a manifestation of my scattered brain, you never know what to expect as readers. Will I be sharing a featherbrained recipe that is impossible to follow? Will you be asked to name new goats? Will I be philosophically analyzing my parenting?

I'm trying to help you.

Now, you will know that on Food Adventure Sundays I will be sharing my food escapades. I (and my family by default) am in a food rut. I've been cycling through the same recipes week after week. Blah. I am hoping that the motivation of a weekly food adventure blog post will forcibly inspire me to try new recipes and new foods.

On Book Nerd Thursdays, I will share with you what I'm reading and what I think of it. I am not a literary expert, but I love books. I was raised by two English majors. With the exception of a brief, zombie-like postpartum hiatus, I have had a book in my hands since I met Kristy, Claudia, Stacey, Dawn, and Mary Ann, and Kristy got her big idea. Recently sparked by my Lenten sacrifice of daytime Bravo reruns, I have been reading a lot. Just as I am trying to vary my diet, I am also trying to vary my literary appetite. I love "chick lit", but I don't want to bore you with countless single girl in the big city titles. This topic will help me expand.

For the other five days of the week, I will attempt to dazzle you with my usual potpourri of topics. What do you think? Will I follow through or will this organization be blown to smithereens within a month?
Keep reading to find out!

  1. I usually make this with mashed potato on top (cause us Irish do love our spuds) and also add a splodge of ketchup into the mix. It was a favourite of all my American housemates and friends. The ingredients are not always easy to find but I have a friend who still makes it in the US and she manages to find the ingredients every time.
