Grabbing the Kids' A-TENT-tion

My kids' play tent is not the first tent to be set up in our living room. When my mom let us borrow her old tent, we aired it out by popping it up in the middle of the room. We sat in it and watched The Holiday on tv. About a million years ago or maybe it was yesterday, when Nora was a baby, I bought a tiny tent at a garage sale. My mom laughed at me. It would be years before she was old enough to play in it, after all.

Well, my $5 tent has given all three of the kids hours of fun! A snow day seemed like the perfect day to go camping in the living room.
Gray and I read books, played Uno Moo, and pretended not to be Muggles.
Nora took over for me when she got home. She was Gray's mom and put him to bed in his tent while she went shopping.

A tent is such a simple thing. It is enough to break routine to spark my kids' imagination. Sitting in the living room in a tent is much more inspiring that sitting in the living room without one.

Sometimes I forget how easy it is to give my kids a little something extra. Something free (or almost). Something fun.
I am totally selling out and advertising these tents on my blog. (I only get paid if you buy one.) However, I would highly recommend scouring garage sales before you shell out $70 for one of these things.
They are much cheaper and pretty readily available.
But if you are going to spend the money, I thought these were cool.
